On Friday, April 12, Samford University’s Brock School of Business announced its faculty award recipients which recognizes faculty members for excellence in the areas of teaching, research and scholarship, and service to the school. The awardees are selected by their faculty colleagues.

Brock School of Business Distributes 2024 Scholarships and Awards
In April, Samford University Brock School of Business hosted several awards ceremonies recognizing the hard work of its students. Nearly $300,000 in scholarships were awarded to deserving business students to apply to tuition for the 2024-25 academic year.

Samford Students Finish #2 in the Nation in Insurance Case Study Competition
Samford University Brock School of Business students recently participated in the Intercollegiate Insurance Sales (Case Study) Competition hosted by Florida State University where they finished 2nd in the nation. This is the third consecutive year that a Samford team has advanced to the finals of this prestigious competition

Geoff Sciacca, associate professor in Samford University’s School of the Arts, has recently coordinated the installment of a unique and original art exhibit that is currently on display on the third floor of Dwight Beeson Hall. Creativity and a call-to-action come alive in this colorful collection of works from more than 40 diverse artists across the United States and Puerto Rico.

Sophia Revis, a Samford University sophomore and sociology and communication studies double major, has spent the spring semester studying abroad in London. While residing at Samford’s Daniel House, she completed a unique internship in the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

On Tuesday, April 16, Samford University held a ceremonial groundbreaking to commemorate phase one of Samford Horizons: A Blueprint for Tomorrow, the university’s campus master plan. The capital project is the largest in Samford's history.

Helping Heroes: C-VETS Clinic Serves More Than 600 U.S. Veterans Since Inception
Samford University Cumberland School of Law’s Veterans Legal Assistance Clinic (C-VETS), which was founded in the fall of 2020, provides free legal assistance to veterans and their families across the state of Alabama. Since its inception, 62 volunteer law students have served more than 600 veterans, including 239 in the 2023-24 year alone.

TJ Riggs Becomes Fifth Samford Student to Be Named Truman Scholar
Samford University's Howard College of Arts and Sciences junior TJ Riggs, a law politics and society major, has been named a 2024 Truman Scholar by the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation. Riggs is the first Samford student to receive this prestigious national scholarship since 2002 and only the fifth recipient in Samford’s history.

Samford University School of the Arts’ annual Division of Music Honors Recital and Awards Ceremony took place Tuesday, March 26, in Brock Recital Hall. Hosted by Joel Davis, interim chair of the Division of Music, the event was attended by faculty, staff, students, donors and parents. Dean Lance Beaumont gave a brief welcome greeting to kick off the evening.
